The Bubble Has Burst!

Event 14: $1,500 + $150 No-Limit Hold'em

According to his Twitter feed, Gavin Smith has been taking some abuse on the money bubble, but his chip stack has been holding relatively steady. That is, at least until he woke up with pocket kings in late position -- moments before Josh Brikis woke up with pocket aces in the small blind.

The board came up blank, and Brikis doubles up with his pocket aces to about 153,000. Gavin Smith is still healthy with 308,000.

At the next table, Anthony Gelfen is all in with QQ against Chris Back's K10. The board comes 975K6, and Back pairs his king on the turn to win the pot and eliminate Gelfen in 37th place.

The money bubble lasted a surprisingly long time -- one hour and 12 minutes.

The remaining 36 players are all in the money, guaranteed at least $2,645. First prize in this event is $119,034, and there is still a fairly long way to go before someone wins this thing late tonight.
