Double Take

Event 4: $350 + $50 PLO

Pilgrim Plunges in to PLO

After busting in Event 3, Dwyte Pilgrim (Brooklyn, NY) is trying his hand at PLO.

"I thought I'd try my luck," says the WSOP Circuit NL specialist, "I figure I can play this game. It'll be a fun event for me."

Pilgrim says it's the first time he's played tournament Omaha and that he only had two minutes to spare before registration closed.

"It's how my daddy taught me how to swim," he says with a big smile, "just jump right in."

Pilgrim didn't last long in the NL tournament when he was pot committed with AQ and ran into AA, but now he's outlasted 1/3 of the Omaha field as 61 players remain. "My secret weapon is calculating the odds, that doesn't change no matter what the game."

Pilgrim is slightly below the starting stack of 10k and proud he outlasted Soheil Shamseddin (Houston, TX) who's considered one of the top Omaha players around.

It'll be interesting to see if Pilgrim summons his inner Michael Phelps or ends up with a belly flop.

Level 5 (150/300) is winding down.
