Event 19 Recap

Event 19: $350 + $50 No Limit Hold'em

Tyler Patterson of Everett, WA, crossed the country to play in the WPT Main Event. Unfortunately for Tyler, he didn't survive day one. Tyler fared much better in the $1,000 No Limit Hold'em preliminary event, where he finished in 8th place for $8,498.

Tyler is still going home with a trophy, however, as he just took down event #19, $350 No Limit Hold'em, outlasting 312 other players to take the top prize of $28,691. When heads-up play began, he had a significant chip lead over second-place finisher Jaime Herrera (Miami, FL). Jaime still managed to double-up a couple of times before his luck ran out.

On the final hand, Jaime got his chips in ahead with A5 against Tyler's Q8, but Tyler flopped a Queen and it was all over. Jaime had to settle for second place and $15,940.

The third place finisher was Onofrio 'Frank' Reina of Carteret, NJ. Frank has now made back-to-back final tables. He finished 6th in event 18 yesterday, earning $4,559. Today, his 3rd place finish was good for $9,883.

Another notable accomplishment was that of Andrew Dykeman of Jacksonville, FL. He finished 18th in event 12, $300 No Limit Hold'em a week ago, earning $925. He then finished 8th in event 14, $1,500 No Limit Hold'em a couple of days later, earning $13,006. Today's 11th place finish is his third cash of the series and earned him another $1,381.

Eric Siegel of Melville, NY, finished 29th, earning $648. Other familiar names who entered this event but did not cash are Mike Leah, (Las Vegas, NV) Mike Dentale, (Brooklyn, NY) and James Boyle (Havre de Grace, MD).
