Spirit of 76

Event 6: $250 + $30 No Limit Hold'em

After the button opened for 8k, Brandon Vargas (Malvrne, NY) popped it to 20k from the small blind. Button shoved and Brandon called showing two black Kings. The button held AQ. The flop came A 7 2 with two spades, so the button took the lead with a pair of Aces. The last two cards were running spades, however, and Brandon made the nut-flush to scoop the pot.

Pedro Torres

Pedro Torres and seat 4 were all-in pre-flop. Pedro's pocket Aces were a big favorite against pocket Kings and the board ran clean. The stacks were very close and had to be counted down, but Pedro had his opponent covered. He's now up to 142k.

Pedro is from Puerto Rico, but is currently in the army stationed at Ft. Dix. Thank you for your service, Pedro!

After a ten minute break, play resumed with level 14, blinds 1,500/3,000 with 400 antes.

Brian Nardone

I perused the chip stacks during the break and Brian Nardone (Sewell, NJ) has taken the chip lead with ~152k.

Mike Ferrugiari (West Islip, NY) is second with ~148k.

76 players remain. Average stack is 59,600.
