This Field is Bursting With Big Names

Event 14: $1,500 + $150 No-Limit Hold'em

One hour into the tournament, and there is still a line for registration. There are 29 tables in action, so the current field estimate is a little less than 290 players -- an impressive turnout.

The field features a broad mix of local grinders, East Coast pros, traveling pros, famous players from TV, and recent Borgata winners. Who we've recognized so far:

Gavin Smith, Chris Bell, Matt Stout, Matt Matros, Soheil Shamseddin (busted in the first 10 minutes), Jeremy McLaughlin (won the double-elimination heads-up tournament last night), Christian Harder, Tiffany Michelle, Maria Ho, Mike Leah, Brian Lemke, Nancy Todd Tyner, Josh Emerson, Roy Winston, Dale Pinchot, James St. Hilaire, Robert Cheung, Andre Boyer, Joanne Monteavaro, Matt Brady, Olivier Busquet, Todd Terry, Tom Marchese, Jason Dewitt, Josh Brikis, Gordon Eng, Charles Hook, Jesse Naginuma, Jason Young, Billy Pilossoph, "Action" Bob Hwang, Prinz Olav von Sachsen, Joanne Dorin, Tyler Patterson, Bastian Fischer, Giuseppe Pantaleo, and Kevin Calenzo.

There's a rumor that Michael Phelps is playing today, and even though he tries to keep a low profile by wearing a hood, it's tough to hide when you're 6'4" tall and an international sports star. We'll let you know if we find him in the field.
